Lucky June/July 2014

When I picked up their June/July 2013 issue I was sold on a subscription and this issue, the June/July 2014 reminds me why I spent the money to subscribe, other than I got a really good deal for a 2 year subscription!
The cover is just beautiful with model Miranda Kerr with a nice outdoor floral backdrop in L.A. The cover truly says summer!
On page 30 in Dear Lucky Style Q&A find out to bring with you to wear when flying in the friendly skies to is 3 masks in a row too much for acne-prone skin on page 32.
On page 35 is all in the mix, as in checks mix. When done in black and white, I find it classy and timeless, but on page 36, wrapping up the article, you can also wear it in orange and navy, which actually to me, looks pretty good for fall.
I like Coco Lloyd’s take on lighting up her tomboy look. I’m loving the white leather jacket from www.lamarquecollection.com on page 38, while on page 40 Caryn Prime celebrates her favorite time of the year in wear-anywhere pieces. I like the baby blue dress by Goat.
I like City Guide: Montauk on page 50. After reading it, it makes me want to go there. Reddings Market for breakfast to The Surf Lodge for drinks at night to go to beaches such as Hither Hills, Shell Beach and Sunset Beach. I’d love to spend at least a full week to 10 days to check out everything.
On page 62 is Paper Dolls, a stationery collaboration between French blogger Garance Dore and Rifle Paper Co.’s Anna Bond. I checked out the website, www.riflepaperco.com and I loved their cell phone covers for the iphone 5s. They have also have covers for the 5c as well.
I love the summery clothes in Here Comes the Sun on page 100. They all scream summer chic and beach time.
Miranda Kerr is on page 106 and personally I think she looks quite chic and classy on page 112.
On page 118 is Blank Canvas. I really like this because I have quite a few white pieces and in the following pages it shows at how you can add the right amount of color to your outfit. From ladylike satchels, strappy flat sandals to oversize shades, you’ll be chic and stylish all summer long!

Harper's Bazaar June/July 2014

Jumping right in, I have to say that I really love the dress on what I guess is about page 4 or 6. On one page it’s the dress and the other page facing it is of a Chanel watch. I’d wear the dress if it was longer.

On page 30 in What We Love, I’m loving the Alexander McQueen shirt, and it would look classy paired with either/or a pencil skirt and slim black pants.

On page 56 is a (very) short tribute to the late L’Wren Scott that’s really nice and well written for the length that it is.

On page 56 Ask Donna Anything, and she answers reader’s questions about fashion…

On page 70 in The In/Out List, Dots are in, and in all sizes. I love it. I just recently got a dotted top from H&M in Kansas City, MO a few weeks ago.  They have the dots featured in black and white, and that keeps it classic and its one trend that when dressed up right can last for quite some time.

On page 83-85 is The Bazaar. I like the black pencil skirt by Nic + Zoe on page 83, which would look nice paired with the Nonoo top on page 84, as well as the Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co cuff and the Paul Andrew heels on page 85.

I really like the clothes on page 86 such as the Band of Outsiders dress,  the Proenza Schouler shirt, the Michael Michael dress, A.L.C. top, Etieme Algner bracelet and the Leon Max Footwear sandal.

A nice little fall preview is a scarlet coat to add a touch of color to fall’s sophisticated neutrals on page 90.

Jumping quite aways ahead to page 144, I’m liking the idea of neutral lips, but I personally would add a wine colored lipliner to have a softer more sophisticated look for fall.

On page 163-173 show cases what’s instore for fall, which is silver/grays, reds and white. Just right for those cloudy days.

And as always, there’s the cover girl, Kate Winslet on page 188.

Summer 2014

So its officially summer, even though its felt like summer for weeks, and as usual where I live it will feel like summer through most of September, and some of October.

So far this summer has been pretty good. To me summer starts Memorial Day weekend and ends Labor Day weekend.

To me, summer is the time to relax, go swimming, BBQ with friends and family, sleeping in at every chance you can get, get a nice golden tan, have an bottomless glass filled with sweet iced tea, a good read and making memories to last until the start of the next summer.

June 2014

Kicking back and relaxing as June rolls in. . .

I can't believe its June already. I can't believe how fast this year is really going by. Before we know it'll be a new year, but until then, I'm just going to enjoy life and relax.

Next weekend I'm going out of town to Kansas City, Mo just for the weekend and I've got all my clothes, shoes, makeup and hair products ready to go, I just need to pack!!!

Whenever I think of June, I think backyard cookouts, sipping ice tea, making memories with enriching friends, and just having a wonderful time. And I hope this June can be filled with just that.

I hope everyone has a wonderful month!!!! Happy June 2014!!!

Here are just some in general quotes you might enjoy.
